Itinerary outline

Yunhe’s rice terraces span mountains, hills, and valleys at elevations of approximately 200 to 1,400 meters. More than 700 layers of fields create a striking landscape. Rising mist and low clouds often drift across the terraces, adding to their distinctive mountain scenery.

One always has such a love for the terraces, yearning, have been to Guangxi Guilin's Longji terraces , Yunnan Yuanyang terraces, have given me Great memories were made! The most impressive impression of the Longji terraces is the unique ethnic customs of the Jin Keng and Dazhai Hong Yao long-haired women. Shaken by the magnitude of the scale and the magnificence!

Yunhe’s extensive rice terraces offer changing scenery throughout the year. In May and June, water-filled fields reflect the sky during the planting season. Ripe rice brings golden colors in October, while winter snow can transform the landscape. The layered fields and misty sunrises attract photographers in every season.

The scenic area has two main sections: Baiyin Valley (Silver Valley) and Jiuqu Yunhuan. Beyond the ticket office, the left-hand road leads to Baiyin Valley and the right-hand road leads to Jiuqu Yunhuan. The viewing platforms at Jiuqu Yunhuan offer views of the terraces, sunrise, and sea of clouds. Silver Valley is another popular area for visitors and photographers.

Silver Valley retains traces of its former mining history alongside the rice terraces. Qixingdun, at about 1,100 meters above sea level, offers broad views of the fields and sea of clouds. A typical visit explores Jiuqu Yunhuan in the afternoon, then continues to Baiyin Valley for an overnight stay at a farmhouse near Qixingdun in Meizhu Village. Staying nearby makes it easier to watch the sunrise the next morning. On clear nights, the low light levels also make this a good place for stargazing.

Yunhe Terrace is one of the Top 40 most beautiful places in China recommended by CNN Travel.

What to refine before booking

Protect the travel days

Review the full hotel-to-hotel transfer for every intercity leg. Avoid relying on a flight or train arriving early enough for a tightly timed major attraction unless the final schedule supports it.

Choose a comfortable pace

Confirm stairs, slopes and time on foot. Ask which optional visits can be shortened or removed, and where an additional night would make the biggest difference.

Make inclusions explicit

Request the actual hotel and room choices, guide language, vehicle arrangements, admission coverage, meals and any activity-specific support in the written quotation.

Compare another approach
