The route at a glance
A compact lakeside camp puts sunset and sunrise around Huanghuacheng at the center of the experience.
Operated by Great Wall Adventure Club. This route is presented as part of China Travel Collection’s specialist Great Wall selection.

Walking level & suitability
The walking can be kept moderate, which may suit families and mixed-age parties. Camp access depends on current local rules.
Detailed itinerary
Beijing departure: Travel to Huanghuacheng with enough time for an unhurried afternoon. Lake-facing walk: Follow the selected Wall trail above the reservoir. Approved campsite: Settle into the designated overnight setting. Evening view: Enjoy the late light and dinner near the Wall.
Sunrise: Wake early for the mountain and water view. Breakfast and camp clear-up: Eat and pack the equipment. Optional short walk: Visit one more accessible viewpoint if the return schedule allows. Return or onward drop-off: Drive to Beijing or a prearranged station or airport connection.
Plan the practical details
Confirm the permitted overnight location, tents, sleeping bags, pads, meals, toilet arrangements and weather alternative in your written proposal. The actual sleeping location may be a designated area near the Wall; do not infer permission to camp anywhere from a route photograph.
Arrange storage for your main luggage with the route team. Carry a small daypack with water, suitable layers and personal essentials. Confirm whether bags travel by vehicle between overnight stops.
Before confirming your departure

- Confirm dates, current route access and a weather alternative.
